Aurangabad: The local crime branch (LCB) of Aurangabad rural police on Wednesday arrested a 23-year-old law student for allegedly murdering a man in Dhamangaon area of Buldhana district.The accused — identified as Mohit Bhandari — smashed the head of the deceased using a heavy stone and later packed his body in a gunny sack and threw it in Hanumantkheda-based forest area.Superintendent of police Arti Singh said, “The accused has confessed to murdering the man after he allegedly passed derogatory remarks against the former’s wife while they were having alcohol.”LCB inspector Subhash Bhujang said, “The accused hails from Sillod tehsil of the district and had gone to Dhamangaon for meeting his sister, while the deceased — identified as Prabhakar Gadhve — was employed at his sister’s house as domestic help.”He added that over a period of time Gadhve and the accused had become friends and the duo would often sit together for having alcohol. “Similarly, they sat together about two days ago, when the deceased passed derogatory remarks about Bhandari’s wife. Following this, the accused killed him and returned back to Sillod,” Bhujang said.
