2 children drown in pit near Harsul

Aurangabad: Two children drowned after getting stuck in a 6-foot deep pit filled with slit at a farm on Kolthanwadi road near Harsul on Monday afternoon.The deceased have been identified as Sohail Shafiq Pathan (11) and Shaikh Yusuf Shaikh Yunus (13). Both were residents of Yasin Colony, Harsul.Police inspector Manish Kalyankar said, “Sohail and Yusuf along with another boy were wandering around after Sohail had returned from school. Upon reaching the farm owned by Rahim Patel, they jumped into the water.”After a while, when they didn’t resurface, the third boy rushed to their houses.The villagers later fished out the bodies before rushing to the GMCH, where they were declared brought dead.
