Retired cop, API register complaints against each other

Aurangabad: An assistant inspector with the crime branch and a retired inspector have lodged complaints against each other following which cases have been registered against the duo at the Cantonment police station.As per the complaint lodged by API (crime) Ajabsingh Jarwal on Sunday, he was passing from Kokanwadi crossroads and heading towards Cantonment in his car that was hit by a speeding car with registration number MH-19-AP-0056 coming from Paithan Road.However, the retired police officer Bhaskar Ganakwar in his complaint has stated that he was heading towards Padegaon from Railway station, when a speeding car with registration MH-40-AC-7923 collided with his car and damaged it.Ganakwar also added that Jarwal abused and threatened him of dire consequences, when he tried to reason with him.Following the accident, the duo reached out to Cantonment police station and lodged a complaint against each other.In the complaint lodged by Jarwal, Ganakwar has been booked under sections of IPC 279 (rash driving), 427 (mischief causing damage) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), while in the complaint lodged by Ganakwar, the crime branch officer has been booked under same sections of IPC including section 506 (criminal intimidation).Cantonment police inspector Shripad Paropkari said, “Both the parties reached the police station and lodged a complaint against each other, following which the two offences came to be registered.”A policemen present at the police station informed that a senior police officer tried to convince both the parties to resolve their issue amicably but they were not ready to listen following which the decision to register cases was taken.
