Aurangabad: City police commissioner Chiranjeev Prasad on Monday issued an ultimatum to the officers to produce results as far as policing is concerned or be ready to face action.Prasad issued many instructions to the officers during a marathon crime review meeting headed by him at the commissionerate while reportedly laying emphasis on winning the trust of common citizens.Sources said that the issues taken up during the meeting included undetected offences, undelivered summons, passport related issues, traffic branch’s performance and cases being investigated by the crime branch and economic offences wing.Sources said that the CP did not spare the police station chiefs as well as the crime branch authorities while reviewing the overall crime scenario in the city.Prasad also went through the number of preventive actions initiated in each of the divisions and asked the officers to ensure that none of the criminal elements is left without a preventive action.An officer said, “The CP warned the police station chiefs as well as the crime branch to ensure that all the pending serious offences are detected at the earliest, else action would be initiated against them.”“The CP reviewed the conviction rate and went through the cases wherein chargesheets were not submitted within the stipulated time.
