CM’s ‘dismiss AMC’ remark leaves Shiv Sena enraged

Aurangabad: Taking strong note of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ comment that he could dismiss Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) if the transparency was not maintained and garbage crisis was not addressed within a couple of days, the local unit of the Shiv Sena on Thursday stormed into the district collectorate office premises.The activists were accompanied by at least three garbage trucks carrying wet waste and the same was unloaded in front of the main building entrance and Setu Suvidha Kendra on the office premises.Fadnavis had convened a meeting in Nagpur on Wednesday on different issues prevailing in the city, particularly the garbage crisis. The Sena workers brought in truckloads of wet garbage and unloaded it on the district collectorate premises before submitting a representation to the additional collector P L Sormare.In the letter submitted to Sormare, Sena expressed their anguish over the chief minister’s statement on dismissal of civic body that is currently being ruled by Shiv Sena in alliance with the BJP.The officials and staff of the district collectorate were taken by surprise and were unable to react or lodge a police complaint and were waiting for the district collector Uday Chaudhari to come back from Nagpur.The administration had not lodged any formal complaint till late in the evening.
