However, critical services including deliveries, emergencies and in-patient care to be provided,” IMA Aurangabad president Kuldeepsing Raul said. “The services at the government hospitals will continue as usual.”Raul said that the NMC bill is anti-poor and non-democratic, which is brought to replace the Medical Council of India (MCI). “The bill will push the medical profession and the patients into dark due to its impractical clauses,” he said.An official IMA states that in spite of the deep resentment and opposition across the country, the government of India is going ahead with the enactment of the bill. “The medical fraternity is left with no choice but to resist the move with determination and resolve,” it further reads.Earlier, the medical practitioners under different bodies demonstrated their opposition to the various clauses in the bills through ‘maha panchayats’ and other forms of protests.A general body meeting of the local branch will be convened at 9am on Saturday in which a resolution will be passed against the NMC.
