AMC announces Swachh Ward competition

Aurangabad: The solid waste management cell of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced a Swachh Ward competition in order to encourage the wards to follow ideal practices of waste management.The competition will begin on September 1 and culminate on October 2. The grading and review will be done between September 25 and 28 and the final results will be announced on Gandhi Jayanti.The competition is based on the concept of No Open Waste (NOW) and aims at encouraging people’s participation, declaring wards free of open waste, gathering support of local committees and residents in the waste collection and processing of waste at ward level, among others.
