Youth, college girl end lives over Maratha reservation in Maharashtra

AURANGABAD/PUNE: A 24-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide in Aurangabad on Tuesday while a 17-year-old girl allegedly killed herself in Ahmednagar on Monday. A suicide notealleged the state government had delayed reservation for Marathas, said Khultabad inspector Harish Khedkar. Suicide notes left behind by them link the deaths to the Maratha reservation issue.Kishor Harde, a science graduate and ITI diploma-holder working with a finance firm in Yeola , was found hanging from a tree in his farm on Tuesday. "This is not a suicide; the government has murdered me," the note read.

Harde's kin initially refused to accept the bodyuntil tehsildar Rahul Gaikwad gave them a written assurance of Rs 10 lakh compensation and a government job to one of the relatives.In Kapurwadi taluka of Ahmednagar district , Kishori Kakade - a class XI student of Radhabai Kale girls' college - was found hanging in her hostel room around 11am on Monday. A suicide note stated she was ending her life over the Maratha reservation issue.
