One arrested for duping MPSC aspirant of R 95,000

Aurangabad: City police arrested a youth, who allegedly duped a 26-year old of Rs 95,000 on the pretext of giving him a sports certificate from a state level event. Sources said that police are also looking in to the possibility of a racket. He currently resides at Mayurnagar in TV Centre area of Aurangabad.The arrested has been identified as Sunil Hukumchand Kamte (25) from Pishoroof Bhildariwadi of Kannad in the district.The transaction took place in December 2017. The suspect had assured that the certificate will help the victim bag a government job.The complainant identified as Somnath Uttam Rathod, from Teesgaon in Khultabad taluka is preparing for competitive exams. However, after receiving the money, the suspect started evading the youth and later even threatened them.On realising that he has been duped Rathod reached out to police and lodged a complaint.Cidco police inspector Nirmala Pardeshi informed that based on the complaint by the MPSC aspirant, the accused has been booked and arrested under sections of IPC 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 507 (threatening to commit suicide).“As per the complaint lodged, the suspect took an amount of Rs 95, 000 from the youth on the pretext of giving him an authenticate state level sports certificate, so that it helps the complainant and his friends during the recruitment of government jobs,” said Pardeshi.Police said that the total number of youths duped is not yet clear and only after the accused is interrogated, things will become clearer.
