Aurangabad: The Mukundwadi police have launched a manhunt for a 27-year-old man for allegedly stealing a woman acquaintance’s cell phone and cash amounting to Rs 14,000 from her residence.In her complaint lodged with the police on Wednesday, the woman said that on July 29 the suspect had come to her house when she was asleep. “The door was opened by the woman’s son and as the suspect was known to the family. By the time the woman got up and went out, the suspect picked up her purse and fled. The woman followed him but the suspect had disappeared,” a police officer said.“The woman informed her husband about the incident in the evening. They called up the suspect but he didn’t answer the call. The couple then called the suspect’s parents and informed them about the incident and requested them to return the money and cell phone. However, his parents also failed to respond. After waiting for long, the family finally decided to approach the police,” he added.The suspect has been booked under Section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code and the police are looking out for him.
