Under the Sahridaya baithak that is organised by Mahagami in Aurangabad, a Kathak duet was performed recently in the city. Senior disciples of Guru Parwati Dutta - Anamika Sarkar and Snehal Kathare performed at the show. The duo began their concert with Madhurashtakam which highlighted different aspects of Lord Krishna. This was followed by pure dance (vishuddha nritta) in Teentaal. With poise and grace, they presented Thaat, Uthaan, Aamad and Tukra. Anamika presented a Thumri in which the Sakhis complain to Yashoda about Krishna's teasing ways. Snehal presented an Abhinaya describing the playful mood of Krishna and how he plays with Gop-gopis. The concluding part of their Kathak performance was drut teentaal in which they presented many fast paced 'paran' and 'paramelu'. Jagadish Vyawhare, Niranjana and Rohan accompanied in the Kathak recital. Guru Parwati Dutta conducted the recital.
