Only the survey of the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), which is carried out every three years, can ascertain the damage caused to the unorganized sector of the country. Aurangabad: Claiming that the unorganized sector of the country had suffered huge damage due to demonetization, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan said that the concerned losses were still unaccounted for.“The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) does not have losses in question with itself. The government is neither protecting the income of the farmers nor is it offering them assured prices for agricultural yield. “There exist several glaring irregularities in the Rafale deal, which establish that the Modi government has the most corrupt rule in India. “Modi had gained from votes in the Hindi heartland.

Only the survey of the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), which is carried out every three years, can ascertain the damage caused to the unorganized sector of the country. The unorganized sector offers employment to 93% of the total workforce and received a big blow due to demonetization,” he said, adding that only figures pertaining to the organized sector were out so far.Chavan, who paid a visit to The Times of India-Maharashtra Times office on the sidelines of his official tour to the city on Saturday, also alleged that a large number of people from the unorganized sector had lost their jobs after the demonetization move. “Both the organized and unorganized sectors had taken a hit due to demonetization, but latter was more severely affected and no record exists of it till date,” he said.Targeting both the Centre and the State government for alleged financial mismanagement, the former chief minister said that both the governments had lost control over their respective economies.“The country and the state is suffering due to an agricultural crisis. The government is neither protecting the income of the farmers nor is it offering them assured prices for agricultural yield. While on the one hand the government has failed to control inflation, on the other hand it has removed the social safety net offered by the UPA government through different welfare schemes, especially in rural areas,” Chavan said.On the fate of next year’s general elections in the country, Chavan, who was also a Minister of State in the Union government, said the Mayawati led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) must join hands to bring down the BJP rule in the Centre. “Modi had gained from votes in the Hindi heartland. If the BSP and SP come together along with UPA, the downfall of the Modi government is more than sure,” he said.Chavan also said that he would soon expose BJP over alleged corruption in the purchase of Rafale combat aircrafts. “There exist several glaring irregularities in the Rafale deal, which establish that the Modi government has the most corrupt rule in India. I will divulge all the details soon,” he said.Commenting upon the political developments at the state level, Chavan admitted that the poll prospects of his party would be hurt by the joining of hands by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Prakash Ambedkar led Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM).“We appeal them to join us, otherwise we will be free to term the newly forged alliance as the ‘B’ team of the BJP in the near future,” he said.Expressing confidence that the Congress and NCP would join hands for next year’s assembly polls in Maharashtra, Chavan also maintained that his party would seek a larger share in seat-sharing being the ‘senior party’.
