Aurangabad: The Parbhani police have booked a 25-year-old woman, a nurse by profession, for allegedly abetting her estranged partner to commit suicide on Sunday evening.The man, Sachin Namdeo Mitkari (30), ended his life at his residence on the outskirts of Parbhani city by hanging himself from the roof. He left behind a suicide note blaming the woman for harassing him.Sachin, who was married and has a son, alleged in the suicide note that the woman insisted on keeping physical relations with him and had threatened him with dire consequences. She had also lodged a ‘false’ complaint against him, the note said.New Mondha Police have registered a case against the woman and are on her lookout following a complaint from the victim’s brother. “She is not to be found in the town following the incident and has switched off her cell phone,” said the police.Sub-inspector O V Giri told TOI that both, the victim and the suspect, were working with a multi-specialty hospital in Parbhani. “They were in a relationship for three years. Sachin, who in the meantime got married and had a son, wanted to break the relationship with the suspect,” he said.In a one-page handwritten suicide note, Mitkari alleged that the woman had destroyed his life and despite knowing that he had married, she insisted on continuing with physical relations. She was also threatening to defame him if he failed to meet her demands, Giri said.The police said that the suicide note further referred to a complaint lodged by the woman with the Parbhani rural police against him. The note stated that she has lodged a ‘false’ complaint against him and thus, he was taking his own life. He also pleaded in the note that none of his friends should be troubled for his action.
