Six booked after 'teacher' on school's rolls paid Rs 25 lakh wages over 6 years

She changed her job in 2013.Senior inspector Shyamsundar Vasurkar of the Jinsi police station told TOI, "Members of the education society pasted the photograph of an unknown woman on Begum's documents collected in 2005 and managed to get a teacher's appointment approved by the education department. During these six years, the salary was being deposited every month in a savings account opened by someone impersonating Begum in a bank in the Cidco area.Police suspect the education society showed the "teacher" as having resigned in 2012 as the matter was on the verge of being exposed.

AURANGABAD: The city police on Tuesday booked six members of the Al-Mubin Education Society here, including its president and secretary, on charges of cheating and forgery in a case in which a non-existent teacher was shown as being on the rolls of Al Asgari Urdu high school at Qaiser Colony , which is run by the society.Police said the society members forged documents to get the appointment of the "teacher" approved by the state education department and withdrew a salary of Rs 25 lakh against her name for six years. The school is fully aided by the government.The whistleblower in the case, Kazi Mohammed Moizuddin , obtained all the relevant documents and took the complaint to the police.According to the complaint, a teacher, Arshiya Begum , had appeared for an interview in the school and had submitted photocopies of all the necessary documents required, including her SSC, HSC, graduation and BEd certificates. When she did not receive any further communication from the school, she presumed she had not been selected and subsequently took up a job with the Sillod-based Maulana Mohammed Ali Johar DEd College as an assistant professor. Police have booked the society members under sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for cheating), 471 (using a forged document as a genuine one), 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.Police said no arrests have been made yet as they are still studying all the documents.
