Aurangabad: The city as well as many parts of Aurangabad district reported brief showers, bringing temporary relief from the October heat, on Monday evening. The clear skies over the city gradually turned cloudy after the afternoon and produced a spell of light to medium showers by around 5.30pm. As per the reports, Phulambri and a few other areas from the district recorded good rainfall activity. Both the maximum and minimum temperature levels were above normal by 3.3 degree Celsius and 0.4 degree Celsius respectively.Aurangabad and many parts of Marathwada have been suffering due to a deficient monsoon as the month of September had gone dry in several areas where rain was expected. The return of the monsoon, which in the recent past had produced good rains for the region during October, has also failed to produce any rainfall. The exact amount of rainfall received by the various different places will be officially available only by Tuesday morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) authorities said that the sudden change in the weather conditions was an aberration, ruling out any chances of further rainfall in Aurangabad and the region.
