Aurangabadkars celebrate Chatth festival

The Chatth festival which is dedicated to the lord Sun was celebrated recently across the country. Devotees of Chatth puja in huge numbers gathered near the water body to perform all the rituals. Many devotees fasted too and later on went to take the holy bath in the water body and were seen offering prayers to the rising and setting sun. The ancient festivity that dates back to ancient Vedas is dedicated to the worship of the Sun god or Surya Dev and his wife Goddess Usha. The important Hindu festival which is mainly celebrated in Bihar Uttar Pradesh and certain regions, the city too had its own share of celebrations in Devlai tanda pond, a village near Aurangabad.
