Cambridge School students take part in 3-day Nasa space camp

As many as 32 students from Cambridge School undertook a study tour of the United States of America recently. The performance by Srikrishnan and Khandkar presented Kathak compositions ‘Kathak Stuti’ and ‘Dhamaar’ among other pieces. “Students who had excelled in Class X were eligible for the camp. Aura-Aurangabad has been conceptualized and launched by MAHAGAMI, a local traditional dance school since 2013. The concert included a Bharatanatyam performance by Anjana Sudheendra and Kathak presentation by Priyanka Srikrishnan and Nilakshi Khandkar.

As many as 32 students from Cambridge School undertook a study tour of the United States of America recently. The tour involved attending a three-day space camp by Nasa at the US Space and Rocket Center as well as a short visit to the University of Alabama, an official release said.Two teachers from the school accompanied the students on the trip.“The first two days in New York included a tour of Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Wall Street, Trump Tower, Ground Zero, a ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty and a night view of the city from the Empire State building. During the visit to Washington DC the students saw the Capitol building, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, Washington monument, the Vietnam War Memorial and the Smithsonian Aerospace Museum, among others,” a school release stated.The itinerary also involved a visit to the Hershey’s Chocolate factory followed by a bus journey to Niagara for a boat ride through the falls and a half day tour to the power plant.“Students also visited the Kennedy Space Centre and went on an excursion to the Universal Studios where they enjoyed a variety of rides. Finally, after a city tour of Miami with a short stop at Miami Beach, they boarded the plane back home,” school authorities said, adding that the trip was meant to broaden the students’ cultural, geographical and social horizons.Nearly 200 benefit from Inspire camp at BAMUNearly 200 junior college students attended the science camp that concluded at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) on Sunday. Titled Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research, the five-day event was jointly organized by the department of physics and the department of science and technology of the centre. “Students who had excelled in Class X were eligible for the camp. The annual event aims to inculcate a liking for the science stream at an early age,” authorities said.7th Aura-Aurangabadconcert heldThe seventh concert under the Aura-Aurangabad concert series was held on Saturday. The concert included a Bharatanatyam performance by Anjana Sudheendra and Kathak presentation by Priyanka Srikrishnan and Nilakshi Khandkar. “The first performance by Sudheendra presented Bharatanatyam compositions ‘Naada Tanumanisham’ and ‘Jayadeva Ashtapadi’, followed by ‘Tillana’ a fast rhythmic movement,” a release said. The performance by Srikrishnan and Khandkar presented Kathak compositions ‘Kathak Stuti’ and ‘Dhamaar’ among other pieces. Aura-Aurangabad has been conceptualized and launched by MAHAGAMI, a local traditional dance school since 2013. The event aims to make Aurangabad city a culturally rich and vibrant place for tourists.
