Aurangabad: The Cidco police have launched a manhunt for two suspects, who pretended to be good Samaritans helping an accident victim and then walked away with the bike and mobile phone of the victim, who met with an accident on the morning of November 6 near Ambedkar Chowk on Jalgaon road.The 47-year old vegetable vendor Tukaram Rathod, along with his son, were heading to Jadhavwadi market to buy vegetables, when a dog came in front of his bike, resulting in an accident that left him seriously injured. The suspects, who were standing on the roadside, rushed to the help of the father and son and rushed them to the hospital to get them admitted. Later, on the pretext of taking care of his belongings till other family members reached the hospital, the duo took his bike and mobile phone and were not seen again.On the day of the accident, family members of the injured man realized that his bike and mobile phone were missing, following which they tried dialling the number, but in vain. It was after only after recovering from the injuries that Rathod lodged a complaint with the Cidco police station on Monday, following which the police have registered a case of criminal breach of trust and launched a manhunt for the duo. A sleuth with the detection branch said that the process of scanning footage of the CCTV cameras in the area was underway.
