Youths to get top-class skills training

Ashish Garde of CMIA said these students will receive classroom training for the first three months at CMIA, ITI and Marathwada Institute of Technology.“For the practical training, the students will go to the Marathwada auto cluster in Waluj MIDC and at various industries for real time learning. The course on CNC programming will be of total 15-month duration, following which the CMIA will help the youths secure jobs or set up businesses,” said Garde.The first batch will comprise children of police personnel as a part of CMIA’s agreement with Aurangabad city police. Aurangabad: In a significant development, unskilled and unemployed youths in the region will get an opportunity to train in a world-class setup that has been introduced through a joint venture of Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) and GIZ India.“A skill-development training programme has been initiated under Marathwada Skills Hub through which unskilled youths who fail to get formal education due to socio-economic conditions will be trained and made employable in industries,” CMIA past president Prasad Kokil said on Monday.To begin with, the first batch of 20 students will start getting training from Tuesday. The decision on the future batches of students and courses will be taken based on the three-month observation of the pilot batch.The CMIA has been authorised by the ministry of skills development and entrepreneurship, government of India, as a third party agency and basic training provider to promote apprenticeship scheme of the government.The scheme aims to provide on-job training to youths to fill the skills gap and support industries in getting skilled manpower with financial support.Giz India will support the programme while CMIA will act as a facilitator and catalyst with technical support.As part of the responsibility assigned to CMIA by the skill development ministry, it already holds awareness sessions for students to understand the apprentice scheme in learn-and-earn mode.
