Citizens wholeheartedly enjoy the first Happy Streets event of the year

The second Happy Streets will be held on February 3, Sunday at Osmanpura Circle. Aurangabad: The citizens of Aurangabad made the most of the first Happy Streets of the year on Sunday morning at Osmanpura circle.As early as 6am, people of all ages braved the winter chill and came out to relish the Happy Streets organized by The Times of India and Maharashtra Times. The artists who want to showcase their art can inform the organizing team at the TOI office in Osmanpura ahead of the programme. Instructors motivated and guided revellers to participate in Zumba, aerobics and bhangra moves on popular Bollywood numbers. Children were engrossed in a wide variety of activities like skipping, cycling, skating and weightlifting.

Aurangabad: The citizens of Aurangabad made the most of the first Happy Streets of the year on Sunday morning at Osmanpura circle.As early as 6am, people of all ages braved the winter chill and came out to relish the Happy Streets organized by The Times of India and Maharashtra Times. As part of the social initiative, a stretch of a road is freed from vehicular traffic and interesting and engaging activities are arranged so that people can socialize and enjoy the time.This time, the stretch from Kranti Chowk to Osmanpura Circle was chosen for the event. Instructors motivated and guided revellers to participate in Zumba, aerobics and bhangra moves on popular Bollywood numbers. The people participating in the sessions felt physically and mentally refreshed. Zumba trainers Jahnvi Jaju, Juhi Barge, Pranali Ambhore, anchor Asmita Pande and games instructor Shoaib Mirza made the activities simple enough for everyone to join.Some women played badminton while others played traditional Indian games. Children were engrossed in a wide variety of activities like skipping, cycling, skating and weightlifting. In wake of Republic Day, cyclists were proudly flaunting the national flag on their bikes.The programme also saw the presence of mayor Nandkumar Ghodele, standing committee chairman Renukadas Vaidya and house leader Vikas Jain. Ghodele appreciated the initiative and said that it raises the happiness quotient among residents.Those who could not be present for this event have another chance to experience the colourful extravaganza.
