Aurangabad: The zoo that is being run by the civic administraation is waiting with baited breath for the verdict of the Union ministry of environment and forests (MoEF), which conducted a hearing of the proposed de-recognition of the zoo on February 15, and is expecting the latter to tilt the scales in its favour.Acting director of the zoo Vijay Patil said, “We expect the central authorities to consider our plea and offer us time till the relocation of the zoo takes place. We have brought to the notice of MoEF authorities the lack of space and other constraints currently plaguing the zoo in its existing location.”As TOI has reported, small enclosures, improper flooring, absence of technical staff and lack of creepers and vegetation around cages are some of issues plaguing the zoo.
