Urdu pupils shine in Marathi essay contest

The winners were honoured at the Moin- ul-Uloom Urdu High School on Tuesday morning.According to Mirza Abdul Qayyum Nadwi, founder of the NGO, the competition was initiated three months ago. Aurangabad: A total of 25,000 students from around 300 Urdu medium schools penned their feelings, in Marathi, about conserving the city’s heritage structures and on issues plaguing the city.The letter and essay writing competition was organised by the Read and Lead Foundation NGO. “As part of the contest, with the help of NGO Udaan, we had distributed 25,000 post cards to children from std V to X.”Amena Parveen Abdul Kareen, a Class 8 student, in her letter to the divisional commissioner, expressed the pride that she garners from learning about the rich heritage of Aurangabad.Anopther Class 8 student Sandeep Bansode advocated the use of digitisation for various civic amenities, including waste management.A total of 1,300 students with best entries were given a school bag each, books and stationery.
