Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technical university to train students in cloud computing

AURANGABAD: Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technical University ( Batu ) has charted out plans to build ‘cloud computing’ skills among students. The university has collaborated with the AWS Educate Programme, which offers no-cost tools, resources and promotional material for students as well as educators.The programme is expected to help students from 142 affiliated colleges learn skills using designated learning pathways.“The programme aims to build capability of students in the emerging field of cloud computing . It will carry stipulated learning hours and each participant student will receive an online badge after successful completion of the course,” a senior Batu official said.The AWS Educate Programme is Amazon’s global initiative to provide students and educators with the resources needed to greatly accelerate cloud-related learning and to help power the workforce of tomorrow.The Indian Chamber of International Business (ICIB), which is engaged with Batu to scale up the mission of developing capabilities in the emerging technology areas, is scheduled to play the role of industry academia collaborator for the programme, an official notification says.Ulhas Shiurkar, principal of Deogiri Institute of Engineering and Management, said the programme has specialized content and offers hands-on activities designed to get students comfortable with the basics of cloud computing.
