AURANGABAD: A Shiv Sena corporator from Parbhani town, about 194 km from here, was brutally murdered by two close aides after he abused on some women over filling water at a public tap in Jaikwadi on Sunday morning.The two accused — Kiran Dhake and Ravi Gaikwad — later went to the police and admitted to the murder The corporator, Amardeep Rode (35), represented ward no. 3of the Parbhani civic body. On learning about women squabbling over water he rushed there and started abusing them, one of whom was Gaikwad’s wife. Parbhani superintendent of police Krishnakant Upadhyay told TOI, “The preliminary probe revealed that Rode abused the women, including Gaikwad’s wife. That angered Gaikwad and Dhake, who intervened and told him not to abuse the women.”Sena corporator from Parbhani killed by aides However, Rode abused Gaikwad and Dhake too and also attempted to rough them up, Upadhyay said. “Gaikwad and Dhake told the police that the corporator has earlier been accused of murder and attempt to murder. They feared that if they did not kill him, he would end up killing them. One of them fetched an axe from home and hit the corporator, who fell. They then smashed his head, killing him,” he said.Police said Rode, Dhake and Gaikwad have been friends for years and operated a gym in the locality. “Gaikwad sometimes even worked as a driver for Rode,” a police officer said. A murder case was registered with the New Mondha police station of Parbhani.
