Further probe is on Representational Image Jalna: A 40-year-old man was arrested in Maharashtras Jalna district Tuesday for allegedly raping an 85-year-old woman. Abasaheb Tanpure, the accused, allegedly raped the woman who lives alone at her house in Wadona village in Partur tehsil Monday night. After she filed a complaint in the morning, Tanpure was arrested. The victim was admitted to a government hospital in Aurangabad. Further probe is on. In another horrific incident, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by six persons for five days, including three minors, after being locked up in a room in Ongole town of Andhra Pradesh, police said on Sunday. All those who have been accused of allegedly raping her have been apprehended from different parts of the state and police said that they are further investigating the case. The incident also stirred up a row over the safety of women in the state with Home Minister M Sucharita promising stern action. Prakasam District Superintendent of Police Siddharth Kaushal told reporters that one of the accused befriended the girl when she was waiting for her friend at the RTC bus station in Ongole on June 17. Yogesh Rane, a worker at a tea stall in Mulund had in March smashed the face of his colleague Vijay Kishor and burnt his upper body for laughing at him at the gym. He was caught after he attempted to kill another co-worker when the latter started asking him questions about Kishors sudden disappearance. (Read full story) Bandra court asks police to probe case of school that blamed child for bad touch The Bandra Court has directed the Santacruz police to register an offence against a reputed school in Vile Parle after a petitioner parent alleged mental harassment of her child by it. Last year, the eight-year-old child was reprimanded for inappropriately touching his classmates, by the school.
