There are many first-generation entrepreneurs that may not sustain due to this uncertain environment, Dhoot said.
Industry in Aurangabad is in fear of losing business if lockdown is imposed in the state. No doubt lockdown had brought challenges and repeating the experience is dreadful.
The industry will not face losses for mere fifteen days, but it will face consequences for a long time. In Aurangabad, there are industrial areas like Waluj, Shendra, Chikalthana, and Railway stations in the district.
There are nearly seven thousand industrial units in these two districts, an MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) official told.
Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA) President Abhay Hanchnal expressed the fear of losses to the newly established industrial units here.
He said the business established in the past few years is much new and doesn`t have much business base.
"We will lose our customer base and ultimately, it is loss of our state," Hanchnal said.
The Aurangabad industry supplies parts to almost every automobile company across the globe.
The industry should be allowed to work even if it is in a restricted manner.
"We have concentrated on retaining business we lost in the previous lockdown. Now, it will again be a loss," he added.
Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture President Kamlesh Dhoot said the lockdown would affect labor, too. He said, "If workforce moves out of city amid lockdown, it is tough for any industry to bring them back."
The industry here is now recovering and should not be disturb, he added. "If we lose a customer, it is a tough job to get them back."
