Govt staffer loses phone, wallet & bike to robbers

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Three unidentified individuals allegedly assaulted a 37-year-old government employee and escaped with his mobile phone, wallet and a two-wheeler collectively worth Rs49,000 on a stretch between Chikalthana and Mahalpimpri on Wednesday.The MIDC CIDO police on Saturday registered an offence against the three people in connection to the incident, which took place at around 8pm. The victim was travelling on a bike when two robbers asked him to stop. Sensing danger, the victim tried to escape from the spot but a third robber standing nearby pushed down him from the bike, police said.The trio then assaulted the victim, asking him to take out his mobile phone and wallet. The victim handed over both the objects, after which they threw him off his bike and fled the spot on his two-wheeler, police said.Police registered an offence under IPC Section 394 and Section 34 with the hunt on for robbers.
