Congress workers protest against fuel price hike

AURANGABAD: Hundreds of Congress workers and supporters from Aurangabad taluka unit on Tuesday staged an protest demonstrations near the Cambridge school square in the outskirts of Chikalthana area to register their protest against hike in fuel prices. However, in the country, the government is seizing this opportunity to increase the fuel prices to make more money. Led by former Phulamri MLA, Kalyan Kale, the workers raised slogans while demanding the government to immediately annul the price hike Addressing the party workers Kalyan Kale said that crude oil prices were coming down across the world resulting in the reduction in fuel prices. He pointed out that during the Congress regime, despite high prices in international market, the government provided the fuel at a reduced cost and controlled rates. He questioned the logic behind the current GST implementation holding it responsible for further adding to the woes of the common people.

He questioned the logic behind the current GST implementation holding it responsible for further adding to the woes of the common people. He said that strangely the government charges 3 per cent GST on gold while for food items the people have to pay upto 28 per cent as GST.Jagannath Kale, another senior party leader said that the hike in the fuel prices has led to increase in the prices of all the commodities. He also lashed out over loan waiver issue and questioned the logic behind a long list of questions to be filled in by the farmers for availing the farm loan waiver.The party members from panchayat samitis, Zilla Parishad and even the corporators who represent rural parts that have been included in the city, participated in the agitation to press the government to against the price hike.
