Shahjahanpur: An FIR was registered against in-charge of Sindhauli wheat procurement centre Naresh Chandra after “irregularities” were found during a surprise inspection carried out by ADM (administration) J K Sharma on Tuesday afternoon.After receiving several complaints of irregularities in wheat procurement at various centres, Shahjahanpur DM Amrit Tripathi instructed Sharma to inspect the procurement centres in the district.When Sharma reached Sindhauli, he found that the centre was not purchasing wheat from farmers and no proper paperwork was maintained by Chandra. In their complaint, farmers said they were forced to sell wheat through commission agents.Apart from this, Sharma also ordered to seize 350 quintals wheat that was illegally stored and ordered lodging of an FIR against the godown owner in Khudaganj block of Shahjahanpur.Sharma lodged a written complaint against Chandra and an FIR was registered against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).Sindhauli police station SHO Rajveer Singh said an FIR was registered after receiving the complaint, and the investigation report would be filed soon.
