Pilibhit: The mysterious disappearance of a seven-year-old Dalit girl who went missing from near her house in Kalinagar area on April 12 took a different turn when her clothes were found next to a child’s head, one bone of human arm and a tuft of hair from a wheat field near crematorium on Thursday. The clothes were identified by the girl’s mother.Madhotanda station house officer Indra Singh, under whose jurisdiction Kalinagar area falls, said a case of kidnapping was filed on April 13 based on a complaint from the girl’s family.District police chief Kalanidhi Naithani said the remains will be sent for DNA examination.In the meanwhile, dog squad which was pressed into service has provided some significant leads in the case, the superintendent of police said.“We are not sure whether the human remains actually belong to the kidnapped girl. It is also doubtful that any human body part can decay so rapidly that it is reduced to skeleton. A DNA test will provide us a clear picture,” Naithani said.“The information about scattered human remains was conveyed to police after some local children visited the wheat field on Thursday morning. The field was harvested on Wednesday evening,” the SP said.Meanwhile, the police official said, sniffer dogs provided some vital clues to the offender on Thursday when they ran towards a particular house on two occasions. The house belongs to a close relative of the deceased. Police said they will question him today.
