12-year-old girl out to buy chocolate kidnapped

Bareilly: A 12-year-old girl who had gone to a grocery store in the neighbourhood to buy herself a chocolate was allegedly kidnapped on Friday. The girl’s family alleged that they had a fight with four youths in the neighbourhood on April 1 and suspected they could be behind this. The house in which these youths were staying has been locked since the girl was kidnapped.The girl’s father, a resident of Hussainbagh locality, said, “My daughter is a student of class III. So we sent her to live with her grandmother in Bakarganj to take embroidery classes in the neighbourhood. On April 1, they were in a drunken state when they misbehaved with my daughter on finding her alone in the house.

After her school closed for summer vacation, she wanted to learn embroidery. So we sent her to live with her grandmother in Bakarganj to take embroidery classes in the neighbourhood. However, she went out of home around 4.30 pm on Friday to purchase chocolate from a nearby shop but did not return home.”“Four youths – Arman (22), Lalla (35), Pervesh (32) and Lala (20) – are my neighbours in Hussainbagh. On April 1, they were in a drunken state when they misbehaved with my daughter on finding her alone in the house. When I came to know about the incident, we had an argument and they had issued threats to me. I had informed police, but we later settled the matter with the help of police. However, I found that the house of these youths has been locked since my daughter has been kidnapped.’’Station house officer Kamlesh Kant Verma said, “An FIR has been lodged against the four accused under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) of IPC. We are trying to nab the accused.’’
