District hospital to get 10 dialysis machines this month

According to a health department estimate, there are 1.83 lakh dialysis patients in UP and only 150 dialysis machines. Bareilly: The construction work of the first dialysis unit at the district hospital has been completed and the officials will hand over the facility to a private hospital of Varanasi for installation of 10 dialysis machines. According to norms, there should be 120 dialysis machines per 1,000 patients which means UP requires nearly 20,000 machines to help its patients suffering from kidney diseases. The much-delayed dialysis unit, which was earlier scheduled to become functional by March last year, will finally open in July.A 10-bed ward with 10 dialysis machines will come up under private public partnership. As the work will be completed by this month, the dialysis unit will become functional in July.’’The unit will come up next to nursing school in the second building of the hospital.
