Bareilly: Taking forward their drive against unauthorised constructions and encroachments under its jurisdiction, the Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) has demolished illegally constructed offices and boundary walls of colonisers/developers near Bara Bypass under Bithri Chainpur police station area.According to BDA, “Illegal colonies, public parks and boundary walls were being raised over nearly 45 bighas near Bara Bypass on the city outskirt. The developers have started constructing roads and boundary walls, and have also set up offices without getting their building layouts approved by BDA.”The BDA authorities razed the unauthorised structures.Speaking with TOI, BDA secretary Surendra Prasad Singh said, “Nearly 35 bighas at Shajahanpur-Delhi route was illegally occupied and construction work of Sanjeevni park was underway by developers. Besides, the construction work of boundary walls was also being carried out. All such illegal constructions were demolished. Apart from this, another 15 bighas was occupied for developing a residential colony at Bara Bypass and roads were also laid down, BDA removed them along with offices and boundary walls of colonisers/developers.”Singh added, “The construction work was being carried out without getting building layouts approved by BDA. After demolition, the spot was sealed.”According to BDA, people involved in the development of unauthorised colonies and public park have been identified as Nirdesh Kumar and KP Singh. The demolition has been carried out under the Uttar Pradesh Nagar Yojana and Development Act 1973, section 27(1), said officials.Sub-divisional magistrate (Sadar), BDA secretary, executive engineers Anil Mishra and Mohan Lal, assistant engineers Prem Chandra Arya, KK Trivedi, RK Chaudhry, junior engineers RP Khare and SP Pal were present during the drive. The drive was carried out in the presence of police force deployed by Bithri Chainpur police station.
