Bareilly: Passenger on board 12587 Gorakhpur-Jammu Tawi Express had a miraculous escape after the loco pilot applied emergency breaks seeing a concrete sleeper lying on tracks near CB Ganj railway station here on Sunday morning.Though the train hit the concrete sleeper with a jerk before it was halted, no casualty was reported. The train started onward journey after technicians repaired the locomotive engine’s break-shoes.AK Singhal, regional manager, Moradabad division, Northern Railway, said “Track repairing work was going on when the incident took place due to gross negligence of workers. Prima facie evidence suggested negligence on the part of the supervisor, following which section engineer Vinay Kumar was suspended,” he said.Traffic inspector Adil Zia Siddiqi said the incident occurred at 11:50 am and the track could be cleared by 1 pm.
