Moradabad: A six-year-old boy , Anurag Maurya, a student of class I, was electrocuted after he came in contact with a snapped high-tension wire in Raipur village of Bilari tehsil on Sunday morning.After the incident, the boy was rushed to hospital by his kin, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.On the compliant of the victim’s father, police registered an FIR against Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) junior engineer Shubham Pandey and lineman Hari Singh at Bilari Kothwali police station after locals protest against UPPCL and administrative officials outsider the thesildar’s office.According to police, the incident took place when Anurag was playing along with other children.Billari kothwali SHO Qamrul Hasan told TOI, “Anurag came into contact with the snapped high-tension electric wire and was electrocuted. He was rushed to the village hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.”“On the compliant of his father Rajpal Maurya, we have registered an FIR against a UPPCL junior engineer and lineman under section 304 A (causing death by negligence) of IPC. The body was sent for post-mortem at the Moradabad district hospital,” said SHO.Meanwhile, police have also been deployed to avert any untoward incident in the village after the protest was carried out against UPPCL officials.
