Police crack down e-riksha driver’s murder, nab three

Moradabad: Police have arrested three accused in the murder of an e- riksha driver on Sunday morning. We have also recovered three mobile phones from their possession apart from the deceased’s device.” Police has recovered the mobile phone and the knife from the possession of the accused persons.The three arrested are identified as Kundarki resident Mustafa, Narela residents Sadray Alam and Mohammad Shami. The rickshaw puller later succumbed to his injuries at Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital on June 6. The three accused had killed the driver and escaped with his e-riksha along with his mobile phone when the unlucky driver was returning back to his home on the evening of May 28.According to officials, the deceased was identified as Arvind Sharma.

On a tipoff, they were arrested from Kashipur trisection by the Katghar kothwali police station officials.SP city Ankit Mittal said, “The arrested persons are habitual offenders and they looted the e- riksha after spiking the cold drink which they served to the drivers. Later, they escaped. We have also recovered three mobile phones from their possession apart from the deceased’s device.”
