Moradabad: A 25-year-old woman jumped to her death in front of Suhaildev Express near Sirkoie-Bhud railway crossing in Majhola area here on Tuesday evening.Station house officer (SHO) of Majhola police station Vikas Saxena said, “Nandani, a resident of Kanshi Ram Nagar, had some dispute with her mother Geeta. Nandani had warned her mother that she would end her life if not allowed to live with her uncle, but Geeta paid no heed to her warnings considering her daughter was angry.”“On Tuesday evening, Nandani suddenly started running towards the railway crossing.

Seeing her daughter running on the tracks, Geeta followed her in a bid to prevent her from taking the extreme step. But, Nandani jumped before the speeding train and died on the spot. In a bid to save her daughter, Geeta too got injured and was admitted to the district hospital with head injuries,” said SHO.Preliminary investigation suggested family dispute behind the suicide, said SHO.Police sent the body to the district hospital mortuary and post-mortem was conducted on Wednesday morning.Police recorded the statement of Geeta at the emergency ward of the hospital.SHO said no case was registered in this connection so far, and police were further investigating the matter.
