Shahjahanpur turns into fortress ahead of PM’s rally

Shahjahanpur: A day before the Prime Minister’s ‘Kisan Kalyan’ rally here, the area around Roza railway ground, where Modi will address farmers from Shahjahanpur and adjoining districts on Saturday, has been covered with a tight security blanket. Officials said that traffic on NH-24, between Shahjahanpur and Bareilly, will be diverted until the PM leaves.According to officials, officers of Nation Security Guard (NSG) and Special Protection Group (SPG) have also been deployed around the rally ground. As many as 14 SPs, 12 additional SPs, 56 circle officers, 60 inspectors, 400 sub-inspectors and over 2,200 constables will be guarding the area during the PM’s address. Several security drills have been performed to ensure foolproof arrangements.”

Shahjahanpur: A day before the Prime Minister’s ‘Kisan Kalyan’ rally here, the area around Roza railway ground, where Modi will address farmers from Shahjahanpur and adjoining districts on Saturday, has been covered with a tight security blanket. Apart from several teams of UP Police, six companies of CRPF, four companies of PAC and a unit each of BSF and ITBP have been deployed as part of security arrangements. Officials said that traffic on NH-24, between Shahjahanpur and Bareilly, will be diverted until the PM leaves.According to officials, officers of Nation Security Guard (NSG) and Special Protection Group (SPG) have also been deployed around the rally ground. As many as 14 SPs, 12 additional SPs, 56 circle officers, 60 inspectors, 400 sub-inspectors and over 2,200 constables will be guarding the area during the PM’s address. Also, the local intelligence unit (LIU) has positioned 10 inspectors, 40 sub-inspectors and 100 constables in the area to ensure that any valuable intelligence input concerning security does not go unnoticed.Further, special waterproof tents have been installed at the venue to accommodate over one lakh people so that they do not face incontinence in case it rains.In a meeting on Thursday evening, all cops above circle officer rank were briefed about the security strategy by ADG Prem Prakash. It was discussed that there will be five entrances to the rally ground from the national highway and vehicles will be parked at Roza mart opposite to the venue.District magistrate Amrit Tripathi has been spending a lot of time at and around the venue to ensure that the preparations are up to the mark. Despite heavy rains on Thursday night, the ground was brought back into shape on Friday.SSP S Chinnapa told TOI, “No one will be allowed to enter the venue without a thorough security check.
