Bareilly: A juvenile has been arrested on Saturday for allegedly sodomising and killing a five-year-old boy on Thursday night. In the shocking incident, the teenager killed the boy by smashing his head with a piece of brick after sexually assaulting him. The accused then dumped the body in the bushes around Akashpuram locality under Baradari police station area.The accused was held from the same locality. Superintendent of police (city) Abhinandan Singh said that soon after the incident, they took the teenager in their custody and produced him before the juvenile justice board. He was then sent to the juvenile home.“We came to know that the accused has been involved in petty crimes in the past including theft. He had kidnapped the victim on Thursday and took him to a desolated place where he sodomised him. He has confessed to his crime and said that he killed the boy to ensure he was safe,” the SP said.Police added that after the boy went missing, the boy's family lodged an FIR at Baradari police station after which cops launched a manhunt.Around 1:30am on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, the boy's body was recovered in a mangled condition around Akashpuram.
