Shahjahanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Kisan Kalyan rally did not only witness tight security but also a colour code — people wearing black clothes or carrying a black bag were refused entry into the venue.There was a heavy posse of policemen at the five gates of the venue. Each person was checked and those donning black attires were not allowed entry. As a result, 50 persons donning black clothes were told to go back.Circle officer Sadar Baldev Singh Khaneda said, “Asking people in black clothes to leave was part of security protocol and it is followed everywhere. We were only adhering to guidelines which caused a little inconvenience to people.”Dhaniram, a farmer from Kaanth area of Shahjahanpur, who was turned away because he was wearing a black neckerchief and refused to leave it behind, was furious. “I had come with my five-year-old daughter to show her our PM. The security officials treated me as if I was a criminal. I felt extremely bad as my daughter was watching everything,” he said.Two days ago, Samajwadi Party's local unit had announced that they would greet the PM with black flags. Samajwadi Party district president Tanveer Khan slammed Modi, saying for not announcing anything particularly for Shahjahanpur. He recalled that when Akhilesh Yadav came to Shahjahanpur as CM, he restarted the Powayan sugar mill.
