Allahabad HC stays demolition of 31 shops in Pilibhit

In response, the ZP had filed a civil miscellaneous writ petition in the HC on August 6 and obtained a stay order. However, the health authorities have decided to move court for vacating the stay order.Earlier, on the orders of the HC, a state-level committee had found that these shops were illegal and their construction by the ZP was unauthorized.It was after this review that city magistrate Archana Dwivedi had served a seven-day notice on the ZP on July 30 to raze the illegal constructions. PILIBHIT: A division bench of the Allahabad High Court has stayed the proceedings of demolition of 31 zila panchayat (ZP) shops built on state government land on old district hospital campus here.An affidavit to the effect that the high court has passed an order to maintain status quo till the disposal of matter has been filed with city magistrate by the ZP.District magistrate Akhilesh Kumar Mishra has suspended the proceeding of demolition of shops for two or three days and has directed the ZP authorities to file a certified copy of the judicial order.
