Six teams to check facilities at 400 UP Board schools in Bareilly

BAREILLY: The secondary education department has set up six teams to verify the facilities available at government, government-aided and private schools affiliated to UP Board in Bareilly district. The verification process will start from Tuesday and teams have been directed to submit their reports by August 25 at DIOS office.During the inspection of schools, teams will check whether the educational institutes have proper capacity in classrooms. The teams will verify the building, number and size of classrooms, installation of CCTV cameras and number of students actually present as against the number registered in the rolls. Facilities like number of furniture for students and teachers, almirahs to store question papers, number of toilets and availability of drinking water will be monitored. As the schools have uploaded the sought information, I have constituted six teams to verify the claims of school managements.”According to officials, each team has three members who are principals of government schools.

The schools will be made exam centres for the board exams considering the facilities they offer.Achal Mishra, district inspector of schools (DIOS), said, “More than 400 schools in the district which are affiliated to UP Board were earlier asked to upload details on certain parameters on the website of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shikshak Parishad for allotment of exam centres. As the schools have uploaded the sought information, I have constituted six teams to verify the claims of school managements.”According to officials, each team has three members who are principals of government schools. Each team will cover one of the six sub-divisions of the district. The verification process will start from Tuesday and teams have been directed to submit their reports by August 25 at DIOS office.During the inspection of schools, teams will check whether the educational institutes have proper capacity in classrooms. Facilities like number of furniture for students and teachers, almirahs to store question papers, number of toilets and availability of drinking water will be monitored. The distance of the school from sub-division and block will be seen and whether it is connected to the main road. Presence of generator sets, CCTV cameras and fire-extinguishers will also be checked.“When we receive the reports of teams, we will forward it to the secondary education department. The school with better facilities will be made exam centres for UP Board exams which will be held next year,” said Mishra.Last week, when a team led by Mishra had conducted a random inspection of schools, it found several irregularities in nine private schools. Action against these schools is under process. When the team reached Seth Salika Ram Smarak Dhakiya school in Meerganj on Saturday, it found that school had recognition till class V while it was running classes for IX and X under a tree. Students of IX and X had been registered in another school. Similarly, the Admission Public School was running Classes IX and X without having affiliation. The team found that Shri Paramhans Shiskhan Sansthan Balli has been running unrecognised classes for VI to X.
