Bareilly: A 14-year-old girl who had gone to relieve herself in the open on Monday night was allegedly gangraped in a village under Musajhag police station in Badaun.The girl alleged that three men took her to village’s primary school and gangraped her. They also assaulted her and warned her of dire consequences if she informed anyone about the incident, she said.A case in this connection was registered on Tuesday afternoon.According to the complaint filed by the rape survivor’s family, when the girl went out to relieve herself, three people took her to the village primary school. “They gangraped her and assaulted her physically. They abused her and also issued death threats if she informs anyone about the incident. The men escaped from the scene leaving the girl. After the rape survivor narrated her ordeal to her family on Tuesday, they lodged an FIR,” said police.JP Singh, station house officer, Musajhag police station, said, “An FIR has been registered against Lankush (30), a resident of the same village, and two unidentified people under sections 376D (gangrape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also under sections of the POCSO Act. The primary school where the incident took place has no boundary walls and windowpanes are broken, too. The girl was sent to the district hospital for medical examination and the report is awaited. We are investigating the matter.”Accused Lankush, a farmer, was arrested, said police.
