Shahjahanpur: Samajwadi Party district president Tanveer Khan, whose cousin Musheer Khan was one of the three persons killed in last week’s cross-firing, has written to Shahjahanpur SSP S Chinnapa claiming that he fears for his life. Police are yet to make a breakthrough in the case.Ever since his cousin was killed, Khan has been staying indoors at his house in Shahjahanpur city. As many as 20 people were booked for the shootout that took place late on last Thursday night.According to sources, one of the main accused in the case, Minna, has not yet been arrested by cops as he is close to a political party. Earlier, Minna had publically threatened to kill Khan after his two brothers, Imran and Israr, were killed in a shootout.Meanwhile, Shahjahanpur City circle officer Sumit Shukla said, “We are collecting evidence against all the accused and they will be arrested soon. All accused are being closely watched and we are aware about their location and daily movement.”TOI tried to contact the SSP, but he was not available for comment.Meanwhile, Tanveer Khan said, “Minna had threatened to kill me in front of several policemen and media persons but the cops are yet to take any action against him. Despite naming him in the FIR and having solid proof of his involvement in last week’s shootout, he has not been touched. That’s because he is close to a political party. I have given an application to the SSP demanding police protection until all the accused are arrested.”
