SP orders arrest of 15 wanted criminals

Pilibhit: Superintendent of police Balendu Bhushan Singh on Wednesday ordered the special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team of the district police to arrest 15 wanted criminals who have been carrying bounty on their heads.Many criminals wanted in several murder cases have been on the run for the past 10 years. The award money had been increased by Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 in several cases, he said.According to SP, the wanted criminals include five murder accused, of which four are absconding since 2008. The district police chief has also increased the award money for information leading to their arrest. As their absconding for a long time is a serious issue, the SWAT team has been directed to trace their whereabouts and arrest them at the earliest by applying the advanced surveillance techniques and information collection network,” SP added. “Of the four, three are carrying bounties of Rs 25,000 each, while another has a bounty of Rs 15,000.”An accused of a kidnapping and two accused of a robbery carry bounties of Rs 25,000 each.
