Pilibhit: BJP district secretary held for assaulting RSS city in-charge

Pilibhit: The police on late Saturday night booked BJP’s district secretary Anirudh Mishra, along with his eight accomplices for allegedly assaulting Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh’s (RSS) city in-charge Sumit Gupta and stealing Rs 81,000 cash from him. Gupta claimed that Mishra had embezzled Rs 4 lakh from him. So far, four accused have been arrested, including Mishra.The leaders of Hindu Jagran Manch and Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Sabha have condemned the incident and demanded immediate suspension of the BJP leader from the party.According victim Gupta, he and Mishra have been involved over a financial dispute for few months. Both of them have been running a restaurant in the area.Gupta claimed that on Saturday 6 pm, when he was busy taking care of some business matters at his godown in Wasti Ram Mill campus under Sungarhi police station, Mishra, along with his men, barged into his premises and started assaulting him with sharp-edged knife.The assaulters then robbed cash and fled the spot after snatching his mobile phone, Gupta alleged.SHO of Sungarhi police station Room Singh Baghel said an FIR was lodged against nine persons under IPC sections 395 (robbery) and 397 (robbery with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt).“The police have arrested four out of nine accused, including Anirudh Mishra, Vishal Varshney, Avinash Mishra and Pramod’, Bahgel added.
