Nearly 75% of the work has already been completed. However, as the building for the outpatient department (OPD) is ready, I have sent a logical proposal to the state government on the number of staff and equipments needed here to run this facility.”Though the administration had earlier announced to start the OPD in January this year, it could not happen as no additional staff was hired. The health department had claimed that the hospital will be inaugurated when the construction is completed. The hospital initially came up at a cost of Rs 45 crore, but during the construction, the budged was revised to nearly Rs 70 crore. The multi-specialty hospital will facilitate neuro surgeons, neuro physicians, nephrologists, urologists, gastronomists and plastic surgeons.“There will be a requirement of at least two doctors in each department. If the state government appoints adequate number of specialists and other staff members, it will be a boon for many patients who are unable to meet costly medical expenses,” said an official of the health department.
