On 2nd anniversary of surgical strike, Army plans events for school children

This two-day multifarious event is planned to be held at Bareilly, Lucknow, Jabalpur, Meerut, Dehradun, Danapur, Raipur, Ranchi and Bhubhaneshwar. This action was seen as the retaliation of the Uri attack that claimed 18 Army jawan.“The school children will be encouraged to visit important training institutions to witness the military values and type of training being imparted for motivating youth,” she said.The Army has also planned to have interviews of Veer Naaris at some selected places. Bareilly: In order to showcase the gallant action of Indian Army during the 2016 surgical strike, various events have been planned at nine military stations, including showcasing of weapons and equipments, video clippings on the life of soldiers at LoC and selfie walls for school children.On the occasion of the second anniversary of the surgical strikes in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), the sacrifice of soldiers during the Uri incident will also be remembered, said public relation officer of central command Gargi Malik Sinha.“The main attraction, especially for school children, will be the digital and selfie walls on the theme of Indian Army, which will be erected at the nine Army stations for two days,” she added.Indian Army had carried out surgical strikes on the intervening night of September 28-29, 2016 in PoK, inflicting heavy casualties on terrorists, and heralding a change of stand on the rules of engagement on the disputed Line of Control (LoC).
