Triple talaq victim attacked with acid in Sambhal

Bareilly: A 29-year-old triple talaq and nikah halala victim from UP’s Sambhal district was attacked with acid on Sunday evening. Police said that the victim has said that her husband’s cousin and maternal uncle had thrown acid on her. Her husband allegedly gave her instant divorce the same year as her parents could not fulfill his dowry demand. They were attacked while they were on their way back.On getting information about the case, SHO of Kotwali police station inspector Shailendra Chauhan visited the hospital. By the time this report was filed, an FIR hadn’t been registered.

Bareilly: A 29-year-old triple talaq and nikah halala victim from UP’s Sambhal district was attacked with acid on Sunday evening. According to police, the woman was going home with her brother on his motorcycle when two bike-borne men threw acid on her on Sambhal-Moradabad road.The woman and her brother sustained minor burn injuries and have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.Officials said that the woman got married to a Sambhal resident in 2015. Her husband allegedly gave her instant divorce the same year as her parents could not fulfill his dowry demand. However, after she approached court against the talaq, her husband and in-laws offered to compromise and brought her back to their residence.According to the victim, she was made to undergo halala with her father-in-law after which she filed a rape case against him with the local police.On Sunday, the woman and her brother had gone to Hyatt Nagar to visit their elder sister. They were attacked while they were on their way back.On getting information about the case, SHO of Kotwali police station inspector Shailendra Chauhan visited the hospital.
