Muzaffarnagar: The police on wednesday busted an illegal arms factory in Muzaffarnagar’s Budhana area. Two persons— Umeed Ahmed and Mashroor Ahmed—were arrested and a huge cache of illegal weapons were also seized from the spot.Police investigation has been set up in the matter. The police acted after they received a tip-off. The police raided the factory and recovered two country-made rifles, double a barrel gun and 14 complete and incomplete pistols.Senior superintendent of police Sudhir Kumar said, “Accused Umeed has a long history of making illegal arms and had been sent to jail for making and selling illegal weapons eight times. His brother Mashroor has also gone jail twice for committing the same crime. Now, we searching for their link and other connections. An investigation is on into the matter.”According to police sources, country-made rifle and double barrel guns used to sell at Rs. 8,000, while pistol would sell at Rs. 2,000.It is not the first time that police has conducted raids in Jola village. According to the station house officer of Budhana police station, “We have busted four illegal weapons factory in the last ten months, even before I had taken the charge of this police station.
